Thank you for visiting my web page. I am running for reelection as a
Superior Court Judge in Wake County, NC. I was first elected to the Superior Court bench in November of 2016 and took the oath of office in January of 2017. Since that time, I have presided over
hundreds of civil and criminal matters across the state. I am tough but fair in dealing with those who appear before me. I have a great deal of experience with the court system in North Carolina as
prior to becoming a judge, I served Wake County as an Assistant District Attorney for nearly 28 years. During that time, I worked tirelessly to seek justice for the citizens of Wake
County.
I grew up in Jacksonville, NC and then attended and graduated from Davidson
College in Davidson, NC. I earned my law degree from UNC School of Law in Chapel Hill in 1987. I began my career as a lawyer in Raleigh where I worked as an Associate with the civil litigation
firm of Yates, Fleishman, McLamb, and Weyher. In July 1989, I joined the Wake Country District Attorney's Office as an Assistant District Attorney. The first two years I prosecuted
misdemeanors and traffic offenses. I then had the opportunity to serve as a contract drug prosecutor (one of only eight in the state) mandated to prosecute high-level drug traffickers and their
organizations. I also served as one of two prosecutors on the Dangerous Offenders Task Force which concentrated on the most violent offenders. I was involved with hundreds of jury trials and
numerous high-profile cases during my tenure with the Wake County District Attorney's Office. My experience, along with my temperament and dedication to seeking justice makes me uniquely
qualified to continue to serve you and all the citizens of Wake County as a Superior Court Judge.
Thank you,
Becky Holt
